How do I set it up?

  1. Insert 2 AA batteries into the hood
  2. Setup the food/drink you want to infuse smoke into the dome, lid, or in a freezer bag
  3. Attach the hose to the smoke infusion machine and the nozzle side into a smoke barrier (the holes on the dome or lid, or into a small opening left in a zipped freezer bag)
  4. Add wood chips to the burn chamber
  5. Light up the wood chips with a gas lighter or match
  6. Press the power button to start pumping smoke through the hose
  7. Let the Smoke Infuser run for up to 5 minutes at a time
  8. Once you’re satisfied with the amount of smoke, keep smoke barrier sealed for the smoke to be absorbed
  9. [For stronger smoke flavor] Repeat steps 4-7 to infuse stronger smoke flavor
  10. To clean, detach the burn chamber once cooled. Dump out leftover charred wood chips and wash with water and liquid soap. 

 

Is it easy to clean?

Most definitely. After smoking, wait 5 minutes for the removable burn chamber to cool down. Then, simply tip out leftover charred wood chips and run the burn chamber under water with some dishwashing liquid to clean it. The mesh filter in the burn chamber can be replaced as needed once overused.

 

How do I add a stronger smoke flavor?

For heavier smoked flavors in food or drinks, ensure the barrier for containing smoke is tightly sealed. You can add more smoke with the infuser for up to 1 minute at a time. Let the smoke circulate and rest in the barrier for smokiness to be absorbed.

 

How do I create a more subdued smoked flavor to drinks?

For a more subtle smoky flavor, smoke up a chilled glass. The smoke will stick to the moisture, and release into your drink as it’s added.

 

Will the Smoke Infuser cook my food?

No, the smoke infuser produces natural cool smoke that will just flavor your food. It will not cook food, heat it up, or change its texture.

 

Why should I use a Smoke Infuser over traditional smoking methods?

Traditional smoking methods are great for strong flavors and those who have the space and time for these setups. The electric smoke infuser on the other hand, can vary level of smokiness to taste, is easy to setup and clean, and doesn’t take up much storage space.

A key advantage also lies in being able to add smoke flavors to delicate foods like cheeses, butter, sashimi and sauces that would burn or melt at higher temperatures.
